WHY DID YOU JOIN NCODA?
I joined NCODA because of their “passion for patients”. I share that passion and know that NCODA can aid in providing our patients with the best care.
HOW DID YOU BECOME A MEMBER?
I became a member through my affiliation with Linda Frisk, RPh. She encouraged me to become active with NCODA in order to provide a higher-quality care for oncology patients receiving oral treatments.
HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT US?
Linda Frisk, RPh, NCODA Executive Council.
HOW CAN NCODA HELP YOU?
By sharing important and relevant information about best practices, I feel that NCODA is an extremely valuable resource that can help our practice provide a higher-level of care. With the continued growth of the NCODA, and the addition of experts in oncology dispensing to the organization, the benefits to our practice will continue to to grow, and help us to provide the best care possible for our patients.
HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE MORE INVOLVED WITH NCODA?
I have been actively participating with NCODA for three years, having served as Chair for the Oncology Pharmacy Technician Association. I would like to assist in helping to grow the role of the pharmacy technician.
WHAT ARE SOME CHALLENGES YOU FACE NOW OR WILL FACE IN THE FUTURE OF ONCOLOGY?
The biggest challenge is the cost and ability to obtain oral oncolytics for patients. An additional challenge is the PBM’s placing more fees and restrictions on the Medically Integrated Dispensary.
