Best Practice’s Docs Oral Support Oral Chemotherapy Adherence

This case study presents a variety of strategies used to assess and address patients’ capacity for adherence to oral chemotherapy regimens. Strategies presented are evidence-based or promising practices supported by primary research and peer-reviewed literature, some of which are currently being used by a diverse group of Oncology Care Model (OCM) participants. In this case study, “adherence” is defined as the degree to which patients’ behavior aligns with medical advice,1 or more specifically, the degree to which they take oral chemotherapy medication as prescribed.2
