Strengthening Oncology Organizations

NCODA (National Community Oncology Dispensing Association) addresses the growing need for dispensing cancer clinics to improve operations at the pharmacy level to deliver quality and sustainable value to all stakeholders involved in the care of cancer patients receiving oral therapy.

NCODA brings value to practices through adoption of quality standards, sharing of best practices, and improving financial viability.

Meet NCODA

The National Community Oncology Dispensing Association, Inc. (NCODA) is a grassroots, not-for-profit organization, founded to strengthen oncology organizations with medically integrated dispensing (MID) services.

NCODA is addressing the growing need for MID cancer clinics to improve operations at the pharmacy level in order to deliver quality and sustainable value to all stakeholders involved in the care of cancer patients receiving oral therapy. NCODA brings value to practices through adoption of quality standards, sharing of best practices and improving financial viability.

Through NCODA, dispensing organizations will be in a position to further demonstrate their high quality and patient-centered focus. With NCODA’s value proposition, oncology organizations will be able to convey to all stakeholders why it is vitally important for a patient’s treatment to remain with their oncologist from first fill through refills.

This value proposition creates a win-win solution for all stakeholders involved in oral chemotherapy including patients, employers, payers, practices, pharmaceutical companies, advocacy groups, professional organizations, PBMs, GPOs, foundations, legislators, and state boards of pharmacy.

History

NCODA’s membership is comprised of like-minded cancer centers from across the country and is rapidly spreading to additional states who operate a dispensing platform.

NCODA will always be independent for its stakeholders, as it formulates a collaborative drug therapy management service which is so vitally important to the increasing number of patients prescribed oral chemotherapy and the providers involved in their care.

Mission & Vision

Our mission is to advance the value of medical integration for oncology organizations.

Our focus is to advance the value of dispensing practices for oncology physicians.
NCODA will provide leadership, expertise, quality standards, and sharing of best practices with all members.
NCODA will deliver positive outcomes through collaboration with all stakeholders involved in the care of oncology patients.

  • We believe that the best site of care for the treatment of all cancer patients is with their oncologist.
  • We believe the best model to eliminate clinical fragmentation and to promote comprehensive oncology care is one where all drug treatment modalities such as intravenous, subcutaneous, and oral are provided at the site of care.

Guiding Values

  • Always Collaborative

Value Proposition

Through NCODA, dispensing practices are in a position to demonstrate high quality, patient-centered focus. With NCODA’s value proposition, community oncology practices convey why it is vitally important for the patient’s treatment to remain with their oncologist from first fill through refills.

This creates a win-win solution for everyone involved in oral chemotherapy including patients, employers, payers, practices, pharmaceutical companies, advocacy groups, professional organizations, PBMs, GPOs, foundations, legislators, and state boards of pharmacy.

Quality Standards

National Community Oncology Dispensing Association (NCODA) recognizes the importance of developing, endorsing, and continually improving Quality Standards.

Aligning around these Quality Standards allow oncology practices to optimize compliance and efficacious therapy along with the need for efficiency and cost management in order to best serve our patients and practices.

The NCODA Quality Standards were created to elevate oncology practices’ performance, specifically focused on the dispensing of oral medications in an outpatient setting.

Experts from oncology practices actively participated in the creation of these standards.

NCODA Quality Standards

  1. Patient Centered
  2. Positive Quality Interventions
  3. Foundational Elements
  4. Health Information Technology

By being part of NCODA you will have access to these Quality Standards and the support of a national community focused on the continuous improvement of efficient oral cancer therapy.

Improving compliance, interventions and the patient experience throughout cancer treatment is a common goal for all stakeholders involved.

In the spirit of continuous improvement, NCODA’s Quality Standards will be amended as the marketplace evolves and as additional opportunities for enhancing quality systems are identified.

Implementation of NCODA Quality Standards and subsequent revisions will follow an established communication platform and implementation schedule.

A hallmark of NCODA practices is the camaraderie and support provided across the network to assist and motivate member practices toward timely implementation of quality systems that ultimately enhance a patient’s oncology journey with oral therapies.
