New name, same trusted guidance.

OCE and IVE sheets will soon be known as Patient Education Sheets — clearer, more consistent, and still rooted in the expert-backed information you rely on.

For years, clinicians and patients alike have trusted our Oral Chemotherapy Education (OCE) and Intravenous Cancer Treatment Education (IVE) sheets for straight-forward, evidence-based guidance. We’re excited to launch the updated Patient Education Sheets later this summer, offering important enhancements in a format that’s even easier to read, share, and understand.

Want to help lead the next generation of patient-centered oncology education? NCODA is now accepting applications for the 2025–2026 Patient Education Sheet (PES) Committee. This committee will play a vital role in ensuring materials remain clinically accurate, up-to-date, and accessible for patients.

Committee members will be asked to contribute ~4 hours/month starting July 2025 to June 2026 to help keep these resources accurate, relevant, and accessible.

Experts in cancer treatment education who are also a licensed healthcare professional involved in patient education, such as pharmacists, nurses, advanced practice providers, or physicians.

  • Dedicate approximately 5-10 hours per month:
    • Convert one existing legacy document (i.e., existing Oral Cancer Treatment Education (OCE), Intravenous Cancer Treatment Education (IVE), and Supplemental Sheets) into the new Patient Education Sheet (PES) format
    • Review one colleague’s work each month
  • Attend meetings on a bimonthly or as needed basis
  • Serve for a one-year term (July–June), with options to continue or pursue leadership roles
  • Act as field liaisons to help prioritize sheet updates
  • Educate and spread the word on the transition from IVE and OCE to PES
  • Committee will be comprised of a Chair, Vice Chair, NCODA liaison, and members

 

Note: This committee focuses on maintaining PES and converting existing legacy sheets. Members will NOT create new sheets from scratch.

  • Submit applications by June 30, 2025
  • Applications will be reviewed internally; invitations to join the committee will be sent out by July 11, 2025
  • Kickoff meeting scheduled for early July 2025
