NCODA is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
NCODA University is committed to providing professional continuing education to oncology pharmacy practitioners in formats that are accessible, functional, diverse, and address current practice needs. The mission of NCODA’s Continuing Pharmacy Education (CPE) Program is to provide members with opportunities for lifelong learning and assistance in fulfilling their maintenance of certification and licensure requirements, thereby promoting excellence in the provision of oncology pharmacy care.
The purpose of this learning activity is to support the educational needs of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in the oncology field, focusing on cancer survivorship. We will discuss survivorship parameters including emotional, psychological, physical, social, and financial burdens that affect the patient’s journey from diagnosis, through treatment, and their lifetime after. Upon completing this activity, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians will have a clearer understanding of how they can support cancer survivors; beyond managing or assisting with their cancer treatment regimens. Registration is not required to attend the CE Webinar.
1. Define cancer survivorship.
2. Summarize cancer survivorship statistics related to prevalence, projections, long-term effects and subsequent malignancies.
3. Identify the burdens of cancer survivorship that result from cancer therapy, at physical and psychological levels.
4. Explain the roles of the health care team in cancer survivorship and the areas in which pharmacy interventions would be most valuable.
A Community Like No Other
A hallmark of NCODA practices is the camaraderie and support provided across the network. Not only do we support our member practices, but they support one another. Together, we’re working towards implementing quality systems that enhance a patient’s oncology journey using oral therapies.
