ACPE ACCREDITED

NCODA is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.

NCODA University is committed to providing professional continuing education to oncology pharmacy practitioners in formats that are accessible, functional, diverse, and address current practice needs. The mission of NCODA’s Continuing Pharmacy Education (CPE) Program is to provide members with opportunities for lifelong learning and assistance in fulfilling their maintenance of certification and licensure requirements, thereby promoting excellence in the provision of oncology pharmacy care.

The purpose of this learning activity is to educate pharmacists and pharmacy technicians on the potential of precision oncology to widen genomic and socioeconomic disparities. This activity will highlight the heterogeneity among the burden of cancer within the U.S. racial and ethnic population subgroups and the challenges with using racial categories
within precision medicine. Lastly, learners will obtain strategies to advance health equity in data collection, tumor sequencing, and precision medicine trials.
Learning Objectives:
1. Describe the use of race, ethnicity and ancestry classifications within precision oncology
2. Summarize precision oncology data regarding the link between genetic ancestry and burden of cancer
3. Explain precision oncology potential to widen health inequities via genomic and socioeconomic disparities
4. Discuss the barriers in accessing tumor sequencing and enrolling in personalized clinical trials
5. Identify initiatives that are advancing health equity within precision oncology

Registration is not required to participate in the live webinar. Participants of the webinar must complete credit requirements within 60 days of the program activity date (5/7/23) to receive credit. Upon completion, credit will be transferred electronically to ACPE. All credit will be viewable in their CPE Monitor profile within 24 hours.
