Health Care Resource Utilization + Costs in DLBCL Patients Receiving CAR T-Cell Therapy
Best Suited For: Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician
CE Credits: 1 hours
Course Description
This activity reviews real-world claims data on health care resource use and costs for CAR T-cell therapy in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) across inpatient and outpatient settings, based on Patel et al., “Health Care Resource Utilization and Costs of Patients With Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma Receiving Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-Cell Therapies Across Different Settings of Care: A Real-World Data Analysis.” Participants will examine first-month post-infusion drivers (hospital admissions, outpatient services, and costs) to support care coordination, resource allocation, and outpatient CAR-T patient selection.
Learning Objectives
-
Describe the fundamentals of Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), as well as the study design, data sources, and methodology used in the 2025 Journal of Managed Care and Specialty Pharmacy article by Patel et al. to evaluate health care resource utilization and costs in patients with DLBCL receiving CAR-T therapy.
-
Compare the differences in hospitalization patterns, intensive care unit (ICU) utilization, and outpatient resource use between inpatient and outpatient CAR-T administration in the 2025 Journal of Managed Care and Specialty Pharmacy article by Patel et al.
-
Identify key cost drivers contributing to total health care expenditures during the 30-day post-infusion period for patients receiving CAR T-cell therapy and compare cost patterns across inpatient and outpatient sites of care in the 2025 Journal of Managed Care and Specialty Pharmacy article by Patel et al.
-
Discuss how real-world evidence from the 2025 Journal of Managed Care and Specialty Pharmacy article by Patel et al. can inform patient selection, operational planning, and interdisciplinary care models for CAR-T delivery.
