About Dallas

Dr. Gallagher has been an oncology nurse within the University of California Health System for her entire career (since 2014). She started at UCLA, working as an inpatient oncology certified nurse, and currently works at UC San Diego as an outpatient oncology nurse practitioner, specializing in pancreatic cancer. At UCSD, she runs an independent pancreatic cancer diagnostic clinic and survivorship clinic. Her passions include symptom management, increasing access to care, and improving the death literacy of communities through end-of-life education. She sits on the ONCC committee that writes the national AOCNP exam, and is published on several different topics such as medical aid in dying, chemotherapy desensitization, and exocrine pancreatic insufficiency.

She is the recipient of UCLA’s Nurse Scientist of the Year and Loyola University New Orleans Nightingale Award for her commitment to the profession of nursing.

She has served on the NCODA Executive Council since 2021, where she advocates for patients and represents our nursing and advanced practice provider community.
