Congratulations to NCODA member Gina Wertz, PharmD as her practice, Nebraska Hematology Oncology (NHO), launched their first medically integrated dispensary (MID) on Tuesday, April 17th, 2018.

Gina joined the NHO team in November of 2017 to enhance the care and convenience of their patients. Gina credits NCODA with helping provide resources that have proven to be valuable in setting up the MID.

She was first introduced to NCODA by friend and fellow member Jennifer O’Doherty (Hematology & Oncology Consultants, P.C.) who recommended that she sign up to be an NCODA member. Gina states that her experience with NCODA has been “absolutely amazing and a huge help”. The recent Spring Forum in Dallas, Texas was a platform that Gina used to network and obtain useful tools to take back to her practice.

Gina has advice for those seeking to establish an MID. “Besides getting an early jump start on obtaining licenses and filling out insurance contracts, the other main component to our successful launch was the early integration of a pharmacist into the workflow, and the amazing support of the entire staff.”

Gina thanks NCODA for all of the knowledge and tools that they are providing to support the world of medically integrated dispensaries in hematology oncology. “NCODA is doing great things, and I am honored to be a part of it!”
